I don't know where I stand with him. And I don't know what I mean to him. All I know  is that every time I think of  him, all I want to do is be with him.
Do you ever just think about some one and immediately get really happy because their mere existence is a source of joy to you?
'HIM' - Just one word, yet one person comes to my mind,   'Kunal Karan Kapoor'
People lets admit it. we love him.  we seriously do.

Its crazy Kunal because I don't even know when you became so important to me. Its like watching a  snowstorm .  I see the flakes falling, but I didn't realise how they added up. Then suddenly my whole lawn  is covered . Every little thing of yours has added up, and you are my snowstorm, baby.

When I first saw you I honestly had no idea that you would be so important  to me..
When I think , the whole world disappears  and, its just me and kunal. in my whole little world

kunal love is broad ; If you love someone, you love all things , not just their looks. Love is narrow ; you love one and only one, compared to  you, no one else matters to me

Have I told you yet... How much I love  you, how much you mean to me.. Have I told you yet.. About all the happiness you bring to me.. Have I told you yet.. That you mean the world to me. You are the best thing that's ever happened to me.. Just in case I have not.. I want you to know.. I love you

A Pinch Of Patience

' I'm tired of waiting'.  'Where is Kunal'? You need to be back on  my TV screen asap. These are the kind of comments which I am sure has flooded our rockstar's inbox. The frenzy and adulation refuses to die down. With bated breath we wait to hear about our man signing up a new project.

In the interim we experience emotional upheavals. Any news of  a new project being launched, and there is a frenzy amongst his fans. But then the long wait continues.  The wait is not because of lack of projects.  Its the lack of good projects worthy of kunal's calibre  and humongous talent. As my friend rightly mentioned 'TV is all Womania'.
Come on folks do  we think Kunal will settle for a substandard role. After playing  the iconic 'Mohan Bhatnagar' and  'Vasu' is he going to make a come back with a mediocre project? Where he has nothing else to do. Apart from playing second fiddle to the female lead . We all know the answer. Its a BIG, FAT NO!!!!!!!!
Kunal has raised the bar so high.  He will take up a role that will convince him.  A role which will give him ample scope to perform. Which will do complete justice to his enormous talent.
Yes, we are all pining for him. We all want to see real, good, sublime acting on screen. we want to see the man with the vast repertoire of expressions wowing us. But we need to hold on to our horses. And not put undue pressure  on him.
So all Kunal fans- Lets stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Lets stop being miserable . Lets stop deactivating accounts.
He will be back. Back with a bang. back with such a powerful role which will again be a knock out performance. Lets be prepared for the mesmerising journey. He is  very special. And kunal fans are very special.
Lets brace ourselves for  his fantastic return on screen. we have waited for one and half years. A little more wait is not going to harm us. 'sabra ka phal meetha hota hai!!!!'
The longer you wait  for something, the more you appreciate it when you get it. Cause anything worth having, is definitely worth waiting

It  has  been a long  long  wait  for  the  ace  actor  kunal  karan  kapoor.  Fans  are  bewildered  and  wondering  what  is  keeping  this  volcano  of talent  .. away  from  our  TV screens. I would  like  to assure  his  fans. . It's  the  draught  of ' fantastic  unique,  out  of the  box ' characters  and  storyline. .thats  stopping  our  charmer  from  biting  the  bait.
I still  remember  the  day  when  I saw   ' Na  Bole  Tum Na  Maine  Kuch  Kaha ' season  1 promo  for  the  first  time.  It  blew  me away  with  its simplicity  and  fresh  approach.   Kunal  caught  my eye  again.  The  last  I had seen him was in the  year  2008. I  immediately  recollected  him as ' yudi' from  ' left  right  left '.. The boy  had grown  up.  But the  charm  had increased  multifold.  And  the  boy  next  door  image  was so endearing.   Something  clicked  in me  and my mind was  made  up that  I need  to watch  NBT. ..
I was fond  of kunal.  But  not crazy  or a fan  of his.  Nbt  changed  everything . I realised  what  is  quality  acting.  I realised  how  eyes  speak.  I understood  that  an actor  can draw  audiences  towards  him with  his eyes ..
Initially  I was on the  fence  about  him   and  NBT . But  kunal was irresistible.  He broke  all  my defenses.    My  life  has taken a 360  degree  turn because  of him.  No  wonder I  call him the  sunshine,  rainbow  of my life  as well. He  has touched  the  lives  of so many  viewers.  Changed  it for  the  better.   He is an inspiration  to many.   Hard  work  and  struggle  makes  success  even  more  sweeter.  He is a role  model  for lot of aspiring  actors.  People  should  take a leaf  out  of him

Good looks vs Real talent

Bollywood  actors  and  television  actors are  expected  to be  tall,  handsome,  fit.  If they  meet  the  above  mentioned  criteria  then  they are  'actors '. Hello.. I don't  understand  the  connection.  When I watch  an actor  I'm least  interested to go gaga  on his looks.  Who cares  about  his chiselled  good looks.  What  connects  me  to the  actor  is his honesty  towards  his work.  His ability  to get  inside  the  skin  of his character.   How  he makes  a character  come  alive  on screen. How  he  makes  the  audience  relate  to the  characters   feelings.

I now  come  to my favourite actor - kunal  karan  kapoor. 

Honestly  speaking  my hero  is not  conventionally  good  looking. But  in my eyes  he is the  sexiest  man on planet  earth.

What  is so special  about  kunal? His  name  whips  up mass hysteria.  His  fan following  increases  with  each  passing  day.  Fans are  praying  for  his comeback. We wait  with  bated  breath  for  some  good  news  about  him. 

Actors  tend  to play  safe.  Refuse  to come  out  from  their  comfort  zone.  Never  experiment  with  their  roles.  Their  resume  only  has  repetitive  characters  that  they  have  played.  Only the  name  changes.  

But  not  kunal.  Right  from  ' Remix'  to   'Na bole  tum  na maine  kuch  kaha'.. Kunal  has  played  a vast  repertoire  of characters.  Every  role  he has played  is so distinct.  No repetition.  His body  language,  his nuances  has been different  in each and  every  character  When I close  my eyes  and visualise  varun,  Yudi,  mohan , vasu,  angad. . ..  I don't  see  kunal. . But  the  character  on the  screen. Such is the  impact  he has on all of us. 

'If you  have a talent , use  it  in every  which  way possible. 

Don't  hoard  it. Don't  dole  it out like  a miser .

Spend  it lavishly. 

Like  a millionaire intent  on growing  broke'

So all of you  aspiring  actors - take a leaf  from  kunal  karan kapoor.  He is an institution  of acting.  I rate  him high  among  the  stalwarts  like  Mr bachchan and the  great  Sanjeev  kumar.  It's  certainly  not  blasphemous to take  kunal's  name  in the  same  breath .
As Albert  Einstein  said  ' I have no special  talent . I'm only  passionately curious'..
Kunal  is passionate  about  his work. . His honesty  and  his  hard work  shines  thru.  He is a joy  to watch on screen.
So all you  ph. . Hear us loud  and  clear.  There  are  thousands  of screaming. We care  two hoots  about  good  looks.  Let  go your  obsession  of  model  looks  and zero talent.  Kunal  karan  kapoor  is the  man to look  for.  He is waiting  to explode.  Look at his body  of work  and  you  will  understand  why  his legions  of fans  grows  with  each passing day.
 Kunal -it  ain't  about  how  hard  you  hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving  foward.

Its been a tough year

Its been an year now since NBT went off air, a show that was a lot different in many terms from  the regular saas-bahu sagas that ruled TV screens then.. A show that was like a breath of fresh air for several reasons.  

It was the one show that was not only different in terms of  storyline but also the presentation, it brought the concept of “simplicity mai hi sundarata hai” in the television world with the concept of "its all about glamour" ; where  the female leads are clad in heavy sarees, and loaded with heavy makeup, literally 24X7 , where main focus is on the wardrobe of 'actors'  than the acting, where huge sets matters more than the storyline, etc.

NBT not only brought freshness by showing a "Dilchasp Love Story of Mrs. Vyas and Mohan Bhatnagar" but also had some  beautiful relations like Mohan- Nanhi, Mohan- Guru, Jiji- Megha and more.. And not to forget , inspite of being a majorly female centric show, the male character was not a mere show piece, he had his views, he had his voice, he had brains to think and reach conclusions and not just agree or disagree with what his mother or wife/ girlfriend said.
Post NBT there have been a significant change in television shows, many production houses have attempted in recreating the magic of NBT, using some what similar concepts, but no one could succeed. 

BUT among all reasons,  for me the main reason  to follow the show was Spiderman-Chawanni bond, a unique friendship, an entirely different bond. It was not only written well but Kunal and Ashnoor brought life to that onscreen relation by their stupendous performances.
BUT that bond was no more there in season 2, so actually there was no reason for me to stick to the show but I still continued watching NBT in spite of hopeless story line, butchering of beloved character- Mohan Bhatnagar,  unnecessary twists and turns and some really annoying parallel leads, the only reason I followed the show till end, was KUNAL KARAN KAPOOR, he made even the poorly written character of Mohan Bhatnagar of season2 watchable.  His flawless acting gave me strength to bear the unwanted characters of the show. Though in few episodes his appearance was as less as 5 mins, but his power packed, flawless performance  in those 5mins, overshadowed the not so good performance of rest of the actors in rest 15mins.
It won’t be wrong if we said that he carried season2 on his shoulders solely (esp. before revamp). 
Kunal K Kapoor is an actor with immense potential, who can bring life to any character he is given. And he had proved his talent over and over again with every new character he has taken. 
After seeing him perform in NBT season1 & 2 one can say with certainty that the talent, the performance we have come across till date is just the tip of the iceberg of his talent, there is a lot more of cpotential that remains unexplored yet. 
All that is needed is another show, another challenging character to explore his capabilities, BUT unfortunately that is hardest part in current TRP driven, television world.

Though he has proved that his acting skills are unbeatable, and no one in television industry is deserves to be called "THE KING OF EXPRESSIONS" more than him, we wait for him to come back... Even after 365days of him bidding  ‘good bye’ to our television screens, we still wait for news of his comeback , still every time while logging in to facebook/twitter we wish for an update about his comeback.... 
Hope this never ending wait comes to an end soon.  :)

An actor  who  is off  screen  since  September 12 2013.  His  magic  refuses  to fade.  His  fan following  triples  with  each  passing  day.  We wait  with  bated  breath for  his  update,  a new  pic , a tweet.  Most  importantly the  news of his  new  project. The  wait  is long.  But  we will  wait.  His  comeback  will  be dazzling.   He  will  blow  us away  with  his  sheer  versatility. History  will  be  created  once  again.
Life  isn't about  getting  everything  you  want the  instant  you  want it. Some thing are  worth  waiting  for - mira  lyn  Kelly ..
Kunal' s  hold  on us  will  never  fade.  He  is a charmer.  He  has captivated  us.

The Wait Continues

Everyday there is some new list of "Top 10 actors onscreen" that is released by some or the other telly site. And everytime when I do not find Kunal in that list, I feel sorry for the choice of that author and also for the mediocre television industry that rarely values actual talent. All they value is a six pack abs model with a wooden face. I remember reading an interview of a casting director for some leading production house where he said, "looks of an actor are the first thing we look for, acting talent is second preferance" My ques to such casting directors is, than why do you call them actors? Better call them a 'Model' so that the title 'Actor' remains dignified.
And its not the mentality of one casting director or few people, its the same for majority and for that reason, Actors (in actual sense) do not get their due.
How often do we find sensible shows with well written and well executed script and a flawlessly performed characters?? Once in a blue moon we get to watch such shows, and if by chance there is some show that would live to our expectations of being perfect (for eg. NBT) either its storyline is butchered for the sake of TRPs or its shut down.
Lack of such well scripted shows with a strong characters explains well the absence of Kunal from our television screens for this long. In a recent radio interview "(Listen Here) he had mentioned that "kaam dhund raha hun". Doesn't that ring a bell in showmakers' mind that an actor of his calibre had to look for good shows. Kunal might not have 100Ks of likes on fb or followers on twitter, but what he has as fan/followers very few actors of television world have.
Kunal's fan base not only include some youngsters going gaga over his six pack abs or merely on his looks, but also he has fanbase coz of his brilliant acting skills, right from teenagers to young oldies from 60s; school going gals to scholars from various fields are crazy for him, coz of his acting skills. Everyone adores him for his talent and for what person he is. People might think am exaggerating it, if I would be there at other end even I would think the same, but after seeing and interacting with his fans (some of them are my great friends now) I can say this with certainity that no actor enjoys this kind of fan base.
NBT ended months ago but still daily there are hundreds of people joining in to his fanclub, does anyone think that it was possible without his stupendous performance.
After watching him as Mohan Bhatnagar people tracked down his old shows like Mann ki awaaz Pratigya, Left right Left etc. just to have a glimpse of his fantabulous performance.
If they loved Mohan Bhatnagar for his care free, bindass nature, they hated Angad, the paan chewing baddie from Allahbad, to the core. One who had seen him as Mohan couldn't that he is the same person portraying the character of Angad who made them fall in love with Mohan Bhatnagar.
And not only this, as I mentioned in my previous writeup (Read here) that Nenjam Pesuthe (NBT dubbed in Tamil)  fans even couldnot escape from the charm of Kunal Karan Kapoor/Mohan Bhatnagar, even non hindi speakers  watched the whole show beforehand on youtube just to get the real feel of Mohan Bhatnagar, through Kunal Kapoor's voice. Coz he is not only best in giving expressions but also he is unbeatable at voice modulation. Do not believe me??? No problem, listen yourself the nazm of NBTseason2  he gave his voice for (Listen here) . Pain, agony of shattered Mohan is very well evident just by his voice. And a talent house like him, is searching for some good show??? I really do not know how to react to it....

Who can understand this quote better than Kunalians?? After this never ending wait of his return, accompained with long silence by him on twitter nd Fb leaves we fans sad, is no news.
But even a small update from the man himself is like a breath of fresh air for everyone. Suddenly everyone is back in their active mode from silent/lazy mode.
After this looooong silence even a simple 'Thank you' post feels like page long post.

My Random Musings on Kunal and NBT - An Encyclopedia of an Actor

The sun was just setting down one fine evening and it was twilight, I was on my way back from office trekking the short walk to board my bus back home. It was a dull day at office with routine work nothing great happening to liven things up..my thoughts move over to Kunal and Nbt... With ‘Bhula dena mujhe’ playing on my mobile headset and reminscing Kunal in that song, I was just wondering what made me go gaga and crazy about this charming, wonderful gentleman actor, a gem of a person, that I spend almost all my free time watching Nbt episodes all over again or one of his many interviews which introduced me to this exotic actor whom we all know as Kunal Karan Kapoor.

My mind went back to that day five months back when Kunal just flashed and whizzed into my life on my TV screen as Mohan of Nenjam Pesudhae(NBT dubbed in Tamil) when I never even knew there was an actor by his name. Staying in a hostel during weekdays and sticking to my usual habit of just having my dinner and going away to my room preferring being all by myself - have never been an avid TV show watcher - I was just about to leave, when this young, handsome, energetic guy of Nenjam pesudhae captured my interest and got me hooked to Kunal for eternity. It was the scene where Mohan has a showdown with his mom after passionately declaring his love for Megha and he’s so terribly angry that he yells at Guru and asks him to leave him alone and Guru leaves the house and the next morning he’s back serving him coffee and I felt here was a man who was different, unique, not just another actor but there was something really interesting, quixotic about him and he makes us think, sit and take notice of him. The rest for all who happen to know me is history.

Kunal in NBT as Mohan Bhatnagar is an encyclopedia of acting all by himself. We are left bedazzled as to which side of him to admire..the ultimately romantic emotional Kunal -The King of Romance, the hardworking intelligent and smart reporter, the Kunal who is Nanhi’s best friend - Spiderman, the humorous Kunal with his comic sense and timing or the Kunal - Guru bromance the lovely relationship where Guru is everything for his Bhaiya both in best and critical times in season 1 and 2.  Each phase of NBT season 1 initiates us to various facets of Kunal leaving us awestruck and just when we think ‘hey Kunal you can’t do better than this’, he outdoes himself and throws us off balance in another heartrending episode.

In the initial episodes he is aggressive, impulsive, tempestuous and Mohan and Megha’s tumultuous relationship blossoms into a romance like never seen before. In the scene where he realizes he has published false evidence against Amar and comes running to meet Megha at Pratik’s holi party and when he tells her “patha nahin meri galathi maphkarne ki layak hai ya nahin, lekin phirbhi mang rahahoon, kyonki iswaqth mujhe aur kuch sochnahin raha, mujhe aapki baton par yakeenkarna chahiye Mrs.Vyas, baar baar mera dil kahtha hai ki aap sach kahrahen, par man, apnihidhun mein apni overconfidence mein, mujhe jo jo sabooth milthegayen main unke saath…apke pathi Amar Vyas nirdosh the”  he is utterly lost and makes us shed tears with him for the pain he undergoes, we never for one moment remember that it’s a show and Kunal is acting but feel that they are two real life Mohan and Megha who are close to us and the moment is so intense and emotional that it leaves us palpitating. Mohan feels so repentant, lost and upset that we suffer and cry with him, he gets into the skin of the character and lives the role to the core.

In another heart touching scene in the corridor of Jannat resort, the way Mohan tells Megha, “kabhi kabhi rona acha tha, tumhara kajal thoda.., his voice so soft and he does’nt speak much and the way he wipes her tears, my heart skips a beat, I can watch it a 1000 times..so heartrending and touching.. And in the ultimate scene where he comes drunk to Megha’s house and declares his love for her in front of the whole family and just begs her to tell once the truth that she too loves him he wins our hearts and makes us cry for him and just floors us totally. His never say die attitude, the passion with which he woos Megha never losing faith in himself and eventually winning her over, inspires each of us to never lose hope in life. He is inspirational not only in his romance but all through NBT in each and every action and spoken word, when his words don’t speak his actions speak for him and he takes us with him rightroyally on this roller coaster ride.

Mohan's relationship with Nanhi and the bond he shares with her is so beautifully portrayed that Spiderman and Nanhi’s friendship pulls our heartstrings.. Mohan and Megha are always made to understand each other better by this little cutie pie and the love she showers on Mohan is so touching that I have no words to express my feelings...In the scene where he publishes the news about Amar Vyas and Nanhi stops talking to him, the way they both miss and feel for each other is so beautifully portrayed and when he goes and begs her to give him a chance, ‘pls Nanhi aisa math karna, ek chance dhe dena, pls chavanni” he makes us go aww..Then after the holi function, when Mohan finds his way back home lost and dejected and Addu throws the colored water ball on him, Nanhi asks Mohan “mere spiderman ko chot tho nahin laghi?” and asks sorry holding her ears he kneels down in front of her and Mohan says “maphi tho mujhe manghni chahiye, thu kyon sorry kehrahi” and then Nanhi says “tum ithne sad kyon hua, kya tum sachmein koi galathi khi hai, humein moral science mein padayajatha hai, ki agar kisiko galathi karke buralagtha hai, tho phir bhagwanji unhein maphkardethe hain, tumhe bhi maphgardhenge, tum chinta mathkaro aaj holi hai, aajkaedin tho smile kardho!” Mohan and Nanhi bring tears pouring down our eyes and leaves us broken and speechless, we have to just be with that moment and experience that scene, I can only watch it again and again and feel my heartstrings being pulled, a glorious best scene of season 1. In another scene on the swing when Nanhi brings him the jalebis and Mohan is so happily eating it she asks, you seem to be so happy today and imitates Mohan and he says with that unique lovely smile ‘you act better than me’ they leave us smiling and content asking for more, Mohan and Nanhi’s happiness is so infectious that we keep smiling and laughing in front of our Laptops/TV screens all alone others giving us quizzical looks..

Just when we think Kunal is so good in these tumultuous and emotional scenes with Megha and adorable scenes with Nanhi, Kunal shows himself at his humorous best too, his sense of humour and comic timing is so good that he can make us laugh with just the way he looks or dances with the mannequin, his funny expressions and sometimes even with a straight face or look, like the scenes in the lift with Megha and the lunch scene at office when Pratik calls Megha for lunch, Mohan makes everyone join in and goes and sits next to Megha acting as if he doesn’t have a clue about what’s happening, that was just too hilarious, we can't stop laughing at Pratik. Mohan and Guru can pull on a laughter riot anytime by just the way they talk to each other, their camaraderie is a treat to watch. 

No other actor other than Kunal deserves the title "King of Expressions and Romance". I can go  on writing about Kunal and Nbt, not sure where to end and if this space will be enough to put all my thoughts on Kunal who has become an inseparable part of my daily life.. but I need to stop somewhere and I would just like to say Kunal  is a viewer’s delight and his diehard fans' dream actor who can make us smile even in our dullest moments, laugh with him when he is happy and cry with him when he is sad,  a person who can light up the lives of lakhs of fans with just his smile, simplicity and his bindass style and attitude, a really cool dude. He is simply exotic and we staunch fans want to see him lighting up our screens and lives again in the near future. He is our one and only True Rockstar.

A Letter To My Rockstar

Kunal Please come back onscreen soon... We are pleading you with folded hands... This longgggg break of yours, accompained with silence on twitter and facebook for these long durations, is driving we Kunalians crazy. Wether the person says it or not posts on your fan page or not, all their heart is shouting is "KUNAL AM MISSING YOU TERRIBLY"
Previously I had decided, or I better say I vowed, not to bother you with messages asking about your come back but now this absence of yours is driving me insane.
Depressive phase of life is starting to take over once again. Saying that seeing you smile brings my smile back is not mere a dialogue or just a line. But that is literally true. After an exhaustive class of even 12hrs all I need is to watch some interview of yours, watch you smile, watch you have a hearty laugh and voila am all refreshed.
But these interviews and episodes from NBT are starting to have a reverse effect now, they make me miss you even more.Everytime I hear "areyyyyy yaar" or "sunna" am choked.
Kunal you are not just 'some' actor whom I watched onscreen, but you are someone who inspires me, who has given me better friends in this virtual world than those I have in real world. And most importantly You have made me meet my ownself, a new me. Few months ago I was someone just struggling with my books, my studies and depression of, life heading no where. But don't know how, but you have made me meet my creative side, that I never knew I ever had. The compliments I have recieved in last few months I had never recieved in my entire life. And all these friends, all these compliments are coz of you.
Recently few friends asked me how do I manage this blog with my hectic schedule and all. Little do they know how much you mean to me. This is the least I can do for a man who has introduced me to a new me... Love you so much and Missing you a lot.
P.S-- If this was a paper I was writing on instead of mobile, it would have been all wet... I just didnot realise when the tears started rolling down my cheeks..

It has been ages since I sat down and wrote anything substantial.  But  my rockstar belongs to a different league altogether  and its indeed a pleasure to write about him.

Today I would like to share my feelings about Jane Austen's  'Pride and Prejudice'. My favourite romantic fictional hero 'william fitzgerald darcy'. And my obsession and ardent desire to see Kunal enacting the role of Mr Darcy.

My association with 'Pride and Prejudice' started  at the age of 9. When I laid my hands on the abridged form of the book.  We had a book fair  in my school.  At a very tender age I had developed a liking for reading.  And Mr Darcy swept me away completely, Elizabeth Bennet and Mr darcy were the ideal couple for me. My adoration for the character reached the zenith during my second year of graduation.  The novel was a part of my syllabus. And I spent ages devouring the book and the characters.
In 2004 came a movie ' Bride and Prejudice' which featured a certain Miss world and a New Zeland actor playing the role of  'Lizzy' and ' Mr Darcy' respectively. The movie left me fuming and I felt like throttling everyone associated with it and for destroying the classic (according to  me).

I then  stumbled upon  BBC miniseries  'Pride and Prejudice'. And the actor who portrayed the  role of Mr darcy was the enigmatic and  the handsome  'Colin Firth'. For  me he played the role of the iconic character of darcy to perfection.

NBTNMKK was at its peak. And the magic of Kunal Karan Kapoor/ Mohan Bhatnagar  was every where.  he was the magic mantra and  no one could resist his charm, his lopsided grin, his wavy hair, childlike innocence, his mezmering eyes and his lisp. Hours and hours were  spent by fans discussing about the character and actor who had captured the viewers imagination.
At the zenith of the character and the serials popularity NBT /Mohan bid adieu to us. Leaving thousand of fans in tears and heartbroken.  An unprecedented  revolt  by the fans forced the channel to reconsider their decision to get back NBTNMKK season 2. I will not dwell about the plot  of Season 2. But Kunal Karan Kapoor delivered a knock out performance. And fans were left with our mouth agape and wide eyed.. wondering why this talented actor had never got his due he so richly deserved. For me  personally Kunal was the only one who carried the entire season 2 on his able shoulders.
It was around the same time a seed  was sown in my mind.  I wanted my Pride and Prejudice to be adapted into a hindi serial. And  only our darling playing the role of Mr darcy.

Imagine Kunal as the  arrogant and  the charismatic hero.

 ' Which do you mean?”  “She is tolerable; but not handsome enough to tempt me; and I am in no humour at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men. You had better return to your partner and enjoy her smiles, for you are wasting your time with me.”

The sparring between kunal/darcy and lizzy will be a treat for all the viewers.

In the beginning the viewers will be more drawn and sympathetic towards  lizzy.. but as the plot of the serial unravels  we will fall for  kunal/ darcy.
Kunal as the harsh, forthright  at times to judge people harshly.. his snobbish behaviour because of his social status... ( for me its a mouth watering role and kunal ufffff.. he will be just perfect).

Kunal as the caring, knight in shining armour  who saves lizzy's family honour and makes a place in  her heart...(my eyes  have become round as saucers)

Kunal/ Darcy's proposal (when Elizabeth confesses that she loves him)
' You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged; but one word from you will silence me on this subject for ever.'

Yes Lizzy is an important character. But with Kunal's portrayal as darcy.. it will be go down  in the annals of history as a very fine and nuanced performance. Kunal will immortalise Darcy's role. There will be a wider audience..
No other actor apart from Kunal can do justice to the role of Mr Darcy...  He will get into the skin of the character.. and bring out all the characteristics of  the hero to the T.  viewers cannot  help but hopelessly fall in love with the character/ actor .. and root for the union of the two lovers. Jane Austen   up in heaven will be very proud of the actor chosen.. and will be a very content and a happy author.. that such a charismatic and a powerhouse performer has  brought darcy to life on screen..

As I have always said like a broken record  can a PH please think of adapting 'Pride and Prejudice'. Not ruining  the classic .. and casting  Kunal as the dashing , arrogant, charming , hopelessly in love hero... It is an earnest appeal by a fan who is completely bonkers for kunal/ darcy/pride and prejudice..

My Ramblings About My Rock Star

The magician  cast his spell on all of us. And then decided to take a break. The break looks never ending. And  we fans are praying  and keeping our fingers crossed about our rockstar's comeback.

I hold Mr Amitabh Bachchan  in high esteem. And next comes Kunal Karan Kapoor. No one has ever managed to make a special place in my heart like kunal. Yes, I  did have some actors whom I liked.. But after a tornado called kunal hit me.. I  don't care for any other actor.  No offense to any other actor or their fans.. But Kunal is way above them. And it will take a million years for his competitors to come even remotely close to him. . I have always dreamt of meeting big b and  yearn to meet Kunal. But I am sure  if and when I meet him all I will do is smile dreamily, remain tongue tied, and if I manage to open my mouth.. I might ask the most foolish questions. I hope my dream of seeing  both of my favourite actors in person.. materialises soon...

Watching TV  now days has become a herculean task for me.  Kunal  has taken a sabbatical and so have many of his fans.. They will all resurface when he comes back blazing on TV screen.

I miss being seated glued to my seat.. so as to not miss a single expression on his face. He is an institution of acting. Every nuances of his leaves us spellbound. Just an expressive , delightful face and a colossal bundle of talent.  There is no other classier actor then the  supremely talented  Kunal Karan Kapoor.  we are blessed to be his fans and watch an  actor of his calibre on screen.

As many of us know apart from the fact that he being  a brilliant actor.. he is a very good human being. I am not being  his spokesperson. But just telling what I feel and think about him. In all his interviews he comes across a witty, thoughtful, caring and delightful human  being. His love  for his fans really endears  him to all of us. In one of his interview he called us fans his 'extended family' . And that made me go all awwww.

There is one more incident which made me love and respect him even more.. But it is something related to a friend of mine. And don't want to intrude into her privacy.. But his gesture made many of us teary eyed. And we felt proud that we  are his fans. My heart swells with pride to say.. Yes I am a die hard kunalian..

I have not moved on. Kunal came as a rainbow in my life. I want him and the sunshine back to lit my life. We all want him. Ardently pray that he  gets a good worthy project. This serial should have a record breaking TRPs.  And kunal's next role should also become an iconic character.

Yes, at times the wait becomes frustrating.  But  this magician  has brought so many people close.. that I have my besties to speak with. We all are sailing  in the same boat. And their never give up attitude  instils a hope  'HE WILL BE BACK'.. Happy days will be back for all of us.

The irrestible magician - Kunal Karan Kapoor

Kunal Karan Kapoor-

Reams and reams of articles have been written about this versatile actor  by his adoring fans. I wonder what should I add more? Making an attempt to pen down my thoughts about this actor who has swept me off my feet.  Making me a die hard fan of his.

It was in the year 2004 that I was introduced to Kunal Karan Kapoor  as  'Varun' in remix. At that time I was so besotted by a chocolate faced hero. Inspite of my loyalty to that actor I  saw the spark in Kunal.  And realised he was  a good actor.  Remix wrapped up. And I forgot him.

But destiny  brought him back in my life again. This time as 'Cadet Yadhuvansh Sahni' aka 'Yudi' in the serial 'Left Right Left' aired on Sab TV. The  sole reason for me to start watching the serial was the catchy title track. And  Rajeev Khandelwal's presence. But slowly and surely   I fell in love with all the other characters. And again had a soft corner  for Kunal. Again there was a feeling that he is inordinately gifted and waiting to explode.  There have been many memorable scenes from the serial. But time and again I go back to YouTube and watch Yudi's suicide  attempt. The scene screamed for an encore and left me shaken.

After LRL I became engrossed  and busy completing my Masters. I had no time for TV.  Though Kunal had made an impact on me.. As time passed by  he kind of disappeared from my memory.

Professional commitments   took me to Chennai and Delhi respectively. I deliberately didn't have access to television. Nothing worthwhile to watch. And all the serials were depressing and regressive.

July 2011 I was back in Mumbai. I settled down in my mundane boring life. Nothing exciting. Nothing to look forward to.

December 2011 was a turning point in my life. Going through the most troubled and emotional turmoil phase on my life.  But someone up there had decided that he would be sending some one to me who would be a soothing balm to my troubled soul. And would bring back the smile, cheerfulness, happiness and zing back into my life.

Circa January 2012. I am lolling on the sofa. And there comes a trailer of a new serial 'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha' that was going to turn my life upside down for ever. What caught my eye was the refreshing trailer( it didn't look like the regular run of a mill story.) The two adorable moppets caught my attention. The heroine didn't look like a overdressed Christmas tree. And there was the hero who looked like the regular boy next door.  He looked familiar. I racked my brains trying to remember why did he look so familiar and pulled my heartstrings. And then  it hit me that this is Yudi. And he was going to play the lead for the first time. And this is when my love, adoration, pagalpanti for this charismatic actor started.

NBTNMKK was on my agenda. I had made up my mind that I  was going to watch it. Come what may. Episode one.. And Mr. Kunal Karan Kapoor vroomed into my life again. This time it was an adoration that would  last for lifelong.. He was going to stay in my life for eternity. And I was to fall hopelessly  in love with Kunal Karan Kapoor/ Mohan Bhatnagar..

What do I say about his talent.  Words don't suffice. And I fall short of adjectives and expressions to praise him. You just need to watch him on screen to fall for his spell. And to be charmed by him.  To understand why he is called 'King of expressions', 'Second to none', ' an actor  in the truest sense'. Why do teens love him? Why do  working professionals go insane for him? Why are tv viewers in their 40s and 50s  completely smitten by him.?

A charming, most adorable face.. Eyes which speak thousand words.. and I am hopelessly drawn to them.. Go weak in my knees and become a gawky teenager whenever he is on screen.   Detractors can say that I am smitten only by his looks. But good looks cannot hold viewers attention for a long time. Atleast not for me and for all Kunalian's.  We were hungry to see  a quality actor and Kunal was manna from heaven to us.

Devoid of model looks, 6 pack abs .. for me he is the sexiest man on planet earth. He makes me laugh, and cry. He brings loads of happiness in my life. My day starts with him and ends with him.

An actor extraordinaire  and a humble human being.  A deadly combo. So down to earth, no starry attitude, frank opinion, vulnerable, genuine love and affection for all his fans. How many actors can claim that they genuinely care for their fans? I cannot think of any. Kunal is truly an exception. A smile of his and my day/life is lit up.

8 months have elapsed since NBTNMKK winded up. But his popularity is spiralling through the roof. Fans are increasing in thousands. And everyone is screaming for his presence back on our TV screen.  We are dead sure he will be back with a bang. With a role that will become more iconic then 'Mohan Bhatnagar'.

Just wanted to let you know Kunal that I love you a lot. You are truly special for me. I will remember you throughout my life. I want nothing but the best for you   my rockstar. May God bestow all his blessings on you. May all your desires get fulfilled. You reach the pinnacle of success. And blessed with loads of happiness.

I am content watching your pics, edits, reruns of NBT/Pratigya.  Please  come back soon. No one has been able to fill the void in my life after you taking a break. Miss you lots, Waiting for you.

An Ode To Kunal Karan Kapoor on Mother's Day - You Truly Make Your Mother Proud

On this Mother's Day we feel so proud of your mother who brought you to this world and gave us the privilege of knowing you initially as Mohan in Nenjam Pesudhae and then opened the whole world of NBTNMKK Season 1 and 2, then searching for Kunal Karan Kapoor the actor on Google, FB, forums, interviews and what not to get to know the real person behind Mohan, bcoz something in you made me sit up and take notice of this unique actor, observe each and every move of his, his style, mannerisms, way of rendering the dialogues, speaking through his eyes conveying a whole range of unsaid words and emotions, having a reservoir of different expressions for different characters, which made me feel that there should be some really awesome person with sterling qualities behind the actor Kunal, someone who plays his character from the heart and should be so much like Mohan or else he wouldn't be able to play this character with such conviction and ease and live the character. It made me curious about the man behind Mohan - Kunal, the more we got to know about you the more we loved you, your handsome, debonair and charming looks, that unique wavy hair style, your caring ways, being down to earth, honesty, simplicity, natural style and aura and an enigma surrounding you which makes us want to know more about you - the persona. Each and every interview shows you in a new light and opens us to various facets of you. Your awesome pictures where you capture every frame in detail speak to us when you couldn't speak to us, they convey the talent and the art which is you.
The persona in Kunal Karan Kapoor makes us shower you with boundless love and affection,, you have made your mom proud by being the person you are and a beautiful human being above all, wherever she is I'm sure she's caringly and lovingly watching over you which makes you face the world with so much confidence and take life with both the ups and downs with equal ease never getting carried away by anything and being so grounded, finding happiness in the smallest things in life. You are never for a moment alone, We are with you. :)

Magical Smile

Today I had a horrible start of the day, wokeup by a nightmare, that left me upset. And even after trying to keep myself busy, it happened to haunt me. After trying everything, I finally started watching NBT, coz studying in that state of mind was next to impossible,  started with epi of 17th april2012, the starting of farm house sequence, and by the end of the epi, seeing that smile of Mohan Bhatnagar, all my fears, went pooofff... "Kahan Ja rahe ho Mohan?? Nayee nayee biwi, bache aur sasu maa se itni jaldi chutkara nahin milne wala." And than there is this cutsiee, notrious smile and expressions on everyone's (Mohan, Nanhi, Jijibua, Megha) face and those adorable expressions of Addu, did not fail to bring my smile back, and leave me smiling.
Fans of Kunal and NBT know what I mean. How can one not smile after watching that adorable smile of Mohan.
And Kunal's acting is just fantabulous as always, even english scholar would fall loss of words to describe the awesomeness of his acting.. As we Kunalians say for him "Har adaa hai qatilana".
I dont know if anyone has noticed this before or not, but Mohan has different type of smile for every diffrent character/situation.. Like in the epi of 17/04 at the end, when he sees Nanhi first, there is this friendly smile, and as soon as Megha enters in the frame, that friendly smile is transitioned to a dreamy, romantic smile. And than again a soft transition of expressions on seeing Addu, from dreamy smile to "ufff" expressions but again as he turns to Megha he smiles thoughtfully, naughtily.
And when Megha suddenly asks him "Kaisi lag rhi hun mai aaj??" There is reappearence of that romantic and dreamy smile.
Ufffff <3 <3 How does this man manage to get these superb expressions, iski har smile mai bhi raaz chupe hote hain.
And than there are those well written, well directed and extraordinarily enacted romantic scenes at farm house. In this era of Indian television, we hardly get to see any aankhon hi aankhon mai baatein, but NBT has brought that extremely romantic look back, where eyes do all the talking, using words there is like interrupting an most romantic conversation. Those intense looks of Mohan while looking at Megha, during the dance scene with 'Dramiyaan' playing in background, or while saying "Sach toh ye hai, sahara inhen mujhse nahin, mujhe inse mila hai, Pyaar inhen mujhese nahin, mujhe inse hua hai" these beautiful dialogues, were even more beautifully delievered by Kunal.
And how can I forget the scene where Mohan first realises his love for Megha, where he and Megha are narrating their cooked up love story for Rashmi, we witness another brilliant dialogue delivery and transition of expressions of Mohan there.
With the dialogue*** "Pata hi nahin chala kab aapk kahayalon main jeene ki adat si pad gaye, pata hi nahin chala kab dil itna majboor ho gaya, aur pata chalta bhi toh mai kya kar leta? Kyunki sach toh ye hai ki jab bhi aap mere saath hoti hain tab sab acha lagta hai, life achi lagti hai, simple suljhi hui zindagi, Shayad sab kuch nhi, bt ab aur kuch ki zarurat bhi nahin. Chahe kitna bhi bura din kyun na bita ho, lekin aapko ek baar muskurata hua dekh lun toh sab bhool jata hun, aur jab jab app dukhi hoti hain, udaas hoti hain, toh apna kuch yaad hi nhin rehta mujhe. Haan ye sach hai, ki aapse dur rehne ki koshish karta hun, darta hun kyunki jb bhi aap mere saath hoti hain toh dil karta hai ki bol dun, ki "haan mai aap se pyaar karta hun", lekin keh nahin pata kyunki shayad aapko khone ka darr aapko paane ki khushi se kahi zyada hai" ***   not only there is change of expressions from funny, supressive smile to intensely romantic looks, but also unbelievable voice modulation too.
Few months back, NBT started as Nenjum Pesuthae, dubbed in Tamil, and so we got had more NP/Kunal fans, mostly of them are non hindi speaking viewers, but few loved the show and Kunal so much that they watched the show in hindi on youtube, coz according to them, while watching dubbed version they were missing superb dialogue delivery of Kunal, which they obviously didnt want to. Such is the charisma of Kunal that no one can escape his charm.
No wonder, we all diehard Kunal fans, are waiting the news of his onscreen return with the bated breath. Hope we get to see this fantabulously stupendous peformance of Kunal in a new show, in new avtar really soon.

 It’s been long since I wrote anything, not because I am less crazy about  Kunal Karan Kapoor now, but it’s just, am missing him terribly, missing those few minutes of watching him when I was all smiles inspite of all day to day problems and thus as I tried penning down what was on my mind, I could not think of anything other than "Missing you so much Kunal".

The other day I was just watching and reading (again) all his interviews and articles about him (just to miss him less, but as it turns out, I ended up missing him even more) and then there was this statement of his in one of his interviews that "People love Mohan Bhatnagar, not Kunal, because they don't know Kunal." But I guess this statement is not entirely true, yeah, we might not be knowing Kunal, as a person completely, but his interviews (interviews of Kunal and not Mohan) introduces us to Kunal the persona and makes us know him as a person and we love the real Kunal even more. Every interview introduces us to a new thing/quality about him.
And as I mentioned before too, I liked Mohan, he made me curious to know about the actor behind that character, but knowing Kunal made me crazy. I haven't met him in person (wish I could meet him someday) but the little that I know about him through all his interviews, just makes me head over heels crazy for him.
So I just thought, why not compile few of his best interviews, articles and blogs about him, at one place.
